Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Espadas finds it's way through Mattus's defenses.
Mattus shoots for a double leg takedown but Espadas sprawls well. He's pushed Mattus's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mattus tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Espadas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Espadas lands a left and a right that send Mattus crashing to the mat, dazed. Espadas thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mattus fails to land the takedown.
Mattus shoots in for a takedown but Espadas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tapda Mattus. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Espadas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Espadas wants it to stay on the feet.
Espadas connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mattus momentarily.
Mattus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Espadas but Espadas pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Espadas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Espadas wants it to stay on the feet.

Mattus drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Mattus is breathing heavily.
Espadas ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Mattus's jaw. Mattus's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Espadas does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Alberto Espadas decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
