Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Deckard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brad Davis told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Bruno Lombardi and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis dives in and grabs Deckard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Deckard pushes down on Davis's head and hops out.
Davis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Deckard avoids it really well and circles away.
Davis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Deckard pinned against the cage. Deckard gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mike Deckard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brad Davis.
A left and a right from Deckard both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Brad Davis has been cut.
Davis blocks a head kick by Deckard.
Deckard fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Deckard counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Davis thinking.
Davis defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Deckard.

Davis tightens his grip and picks Deckard up, before dumping him to the ground. Deckard manages to land in guard.

Davis wants to control from the top but Deckard keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Deckard isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Davis stacks Deckard on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Davis!
Davis postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Deckard manages to work his way to half guard, despite Davis's best efforts.
Davis is trying to control the action in half guard but Deckard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Deckard is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Davis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Davis's back!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Deckard is trying to stick to Davis's back but Davis is turning into Deckard. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Deckard's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Davis.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Brad Davis hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Davis tries for a takedown but Deckard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Davis looks to land a left hand but Deckard moved out of range nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Deckard leaves Davis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

A looping hook to the body misses from Davis. Deckard does a little dance to reset his feet.

Davis misses with a takedown attempt - Deckard sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Davis shoots in looking for a takedown but Deckard manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Davis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Horrible takedown by Davis or perhaps it was just good defense by Deckard which made him look bad.

Deckard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Davis sprawls well. Davis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Deckard gets slowly back to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Deckard.
I think Davis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
