The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Couture closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Day's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Day looking to control.
Couture slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Couture could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Day manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Couture is taking a breather. Day says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Randy Couture.
Couture looks to land a combination but Day avoids it well.

Couture shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Day is trying to defend but Couture finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
