Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Rowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Den Knieschijf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rowan's entrance music is Anthrax - I Am The Law. A fine choice. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Samuel Rowan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jan Den Knieschijf!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Den Knieschijf tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rowan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Den Knieschijf takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Jan Den Knieschijf has been cut.
Rowan connects with a leg kick. Den Knieschijf looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Den Knieschijf fails in his attempt to clinch.

Rowan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Den Knieschijf stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Den Knieschijf tries to clinch up but Rowan circles away and keeps his distance.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Rowan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Den Knieschijf does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rowan is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Den Knieschijf can't keep his opponent in guard - Rowan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Den Knieschijf has hold of Rowan's hands but Rowan slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Den Knieschijf really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rowan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Den Knieschijf tries to roll over but Rowan keeps him under control.
Rowan wants to control but Den Knieschijf is keeping him busy.
Rowan looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Rowan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Den Knieschijf is just riding it out for now. Rowan eventually gives up the hold.

Rowan is looking for a kimura here.
Rowan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rowan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Den Knieschijf keeps working.

Rowan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Rowan winds up and cracks Den Knieschijf with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rowan is looking to take a break and control but Den Knieschijf is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Den Knieschijf throws the left hand but Rowan avoids the punch easily.

and Rowan counters with a nice body shot.
Den Knieschijf takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

and Den Knieschijf counters with a straight right hand.

Rowan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rowan scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rowan is working for a submission of some sort.
Den Knieschijf wants to control but Rowan is keeping busy.
Den Knieschijf is in trouble now - Rowan has advanced to mount!

Samuel Rowan tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
