Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Dao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Igor Dao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyson Kane!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kane shoots in and gets a takedown into Dao's guard.
Kane wants to control from the top but Dao keeps moving.
Dao wants to sweep here but Kane controlling him for the moment.

Dao is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kane working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kane wants to control from the top but Dao keeps moving.
Dao keeping full guard, as Kane tries to pass.
Dao on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dao tries to get out of the position.

Dao looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kane is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tyson Kane has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Dao shoots for a double leg takedown but Kane sprawls well. He's pushed Dao's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Kane darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.


It looks like Igor Dao has been cut.
Kane tries to clinch up but Dao circles away and keeps his distance.

Dao rushes Kane and presses him up against the cage.

Nice body punch from Kane - that landed with a thud.

Kane works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dao is trying to control the position but Kane postures up.
Kane wants to stand but Dao is controlling his posture from full guard.
Dao manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kane manages to get himself to full guard.
Kane is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Dao postures up in Kane's guard and throws a big left but Kane blocks it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kane tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dao paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Dao avoids a kick to the body.
Dao shoots in for a double leg but Kane sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Dao gets tackled into the cage by Kane. Kane maintains the clinch.
Dao has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kane avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Dao. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kane missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Dao manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kane manages to get himself to full guard.
Dao tries to free his leg and advance position but Kane is retaining full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tyson Kane hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Kane shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dao manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kane seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Dao tries to keep at a distance but Kane has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kane breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dao shoots in looking for a takedown. Kane tries to sprawl out of it but Dao keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kane manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Kane lands with a good body shot.
Some wild striking there from Dao.

Kane lands a left and a right that send Dao crashing to the mat, dazed. Kane thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kane wants to get up but he can't break Dao's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tyson Kane hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Kane closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dao did well to prevent Kane getting side control.
Kane is trying to control the action in half guard but Dao is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Tyson Kane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kane checks a leg kick.

Kane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dao's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Dao throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Dao wants to sweep but no luck.
Kane wants to control from the top but Dao keeps moving.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Kane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dao. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kane wants the takedown. Dao is fighting it off but Kane persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Dao's guard against the cage.

Dao manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Kane's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Kane is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Dao looking to finish with strikes here!
Dao with a couple of short strikes.
Dao misses with a head shot.
Dao looking to land elbow strikes but Kane uses the position to regain half guard.
Dao is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Dao thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kane's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Tyson Kane is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Igor Dao.
Well Kane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
