Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rome Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Oker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Eminem & Royce Da 5'9 - Above the Law . Oker is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hate Me Now. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rome Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Al Oker!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oker shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Oker's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Oker tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Oker fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rome Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Oker.
Oker scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Jones is trying hard to land a takedown here. Oker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Oker was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Oker wants to sweep but no luck.
Jones working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Oker's head.

Jones is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Oker is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Oker has escaped and now he's on top!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Oker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Oker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Oker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Oker has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.
Oker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Oker defends well.

Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Oker is one step ahead there.

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Oker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Oker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jones is looking to sweep but instead, Oker has passed into half guard.
Oker passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jones!
Oker misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Jones looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Oker controlling well, preventing Jones from escaping the position.
Jones staying busy and making it hard for Oker to control.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Oker shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Oker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Oker misses with the combination.
Horrible takedown by Oker or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.
Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Oker moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nice takedown defense from Oker. No joy for Jones on that attempt.

Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Oker displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Oker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rome Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Oker can't do much from the bottom here.
Jones postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ground and pound from Jones seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Jones is looking to take a break and control but Oker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jones misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Oker with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jones is keen to just control but Oker is a slippery customer.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
