Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dixson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Dixson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Shields manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Dixson advances to half guard.

Dixson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Shields has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dixson slows the pace down in half guard.
Dixson thows a huge punch but Shields dodges it nicely.
Shields really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dixson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dixson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dixson escapes and gets back to his feet.

Dixson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shields was covering up waiting for the punch and Dixson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Dixson stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Dixson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Shields to the ground. Dixson is now in Shields's guard.
Dixson lands a couple of elbows.
Dixson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Shields trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Dixson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Dixson pushes down on Shields's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Dixson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ray Dixson spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
