Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Hustlin. Jackson has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Shane Jackson has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a series of punches but Five moves out of range.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Five just misses with a punch to the body.
Five misses with a looping right.
Five throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jackson moves out of range of the strikes.
Jackson slips a jab and a cross from Five.
I Phone Five seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jackson has closed the distance and engaged Five in a clinch.
Five wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Five wants to break the clinch but can't.

Jackson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Five throws a jab but it's blocked by Jackson.
Five cracks Jackson with a right hand to the side of the head.


Shane Jackson's cut is getting worse.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Five throws a right hand that Jackson ducks under and follows up with a left that Jackson also avoids with ease.

Jackson throws a head kick that misses.
Jackson gets cracked there but stands up to it.


Shane Jackson's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Five swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Five moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Five cracks Jackson with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Five has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Jackson to stand back up!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jackson clinches up against the cage.
Jackson seems to have got his legs back now.
Jackson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Five tries to break the clinch but Jackson is controlling the position.

Jackson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Five is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jackson is controlling him well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jackson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Five to see if he's OK.

Jackson decides to stand back up. Jackson steps back and let's Five get back to his feet.
Jackson ducks under a wild hook from Five.

Jackson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Five was covering up waiting for the punch and Jackson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jackson is in close to Five's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Jackson connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Five is looking to stand back up but Jackson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Five.

Jackson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jackson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Jackson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Jackson winds up and cracks Five with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jackson is nestled in close to Five, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jackson connects with a nice short shot to Five's temple.
Five really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jackson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Five defend it? Jackson steps over the head and cranks it - Five is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Jackson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Shane Jackson!
Our winner, Shane Jackson, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
