The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gomez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gomez lands with a right hand.
Gomez throws a looping overhand right but Bohlin ducks down to avoid it.
A telegraphed right hand from Bohlin misses the target.
Bohlin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bohlin is looking for a kimura but Gomez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bohlin to get the leverage.
Bohlin passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gomez!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gomez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bohlin is just riding it out for now. Gomez eventually gives up the hold.
Gomez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bohlin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bohlin tries to roll over but Gomez keeps him under control.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Gomez wants to take Bohlin's back but he can't do it this time.
Gomez fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Gomez swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bohlin is now in Gomez's guard. A big mistake from Gomez there, giving up the dominant position!
Gomez is looking for a triangle but Bohlin pushes his legs off easily.
