Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Koray Omer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chuck Liddell!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Liddell counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Liddell.

Liddell wants the takedown. Omer is fighting it off but Liddell persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Omer's guard against the cage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Omer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Omer tries to strike from the bottom.
Liddell's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Omer wants to control but Liddell passes easily into half guard.
Liddell perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Liddell tries to pass the half guard into mount. Omer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Omer wants to control but Liddell is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Omer is looking for a sweep. Liddell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Omer is trying to stand up here but Liddell is controlling him well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Omer in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Liddell scores with a short punch from the bottom.

Liddell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Omer defends it easily.
Liddell looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Omer puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Omer is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Liddell holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Omer tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Omer sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Liddell is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Omer throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Liddell because Omer loaded up on that one.
Liddell is in all sorts of trouble here.

Omer with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Liddell is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Omer misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Liddell is desperately trying to improve his position but Omer has a good base and remains in mount.

Omer throws some wild stikes that Liddell manages to avoid easily.
Liddell tries to lock up and control but Omer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Liddell can do anything to dispel that myth.

Omer goes for an armbar but Liddell turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Liddell.
Omer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Koray Omer will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Liddell is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Omer's half guard.
Omer wants to get back to his feet.
Liddell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Omer keeps working.
Liddell looks to land a strike but Omer avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Omer is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Liddell frees his head nicely. Oh but Omer has switched to an armbar! Liddell is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
