Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oswaldo Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Panzer Grenadier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez comes to the cage accompanied by In The Ghetto - By Elvis Presley. Grenadier has chosen Esaka '96 as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Oswaldo Sanchez has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Oswaldo Sanchez seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Oswaldo Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Panzer Grenadier!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Grenadier's half guard.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Grenadier is trying to stand up here but Sanchez is controlling him well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sanchez connects with a nice short shot to Grenadier's temple.

Sanchez is trying to control the action in half guard but Grenadier is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Sanchez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Grenadier lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sanchez!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Oswaldo Sanchez will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Grenadier throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sanchez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sanchez checks a leg kick.
Sanchez wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Sanchez on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Grenadier throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Grenadier swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Grenadier scores with a jab. Sanchez acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Grenadier throws a lazy uppercut

so Sanchez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Grenadier wants to sweep here but Sanchez controlling him for the moment.
Sanchez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Sanchez wants to control from the top but Grenadier keeps moving.

Sanchez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Oswaldo Sanchez wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Sanchez turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Sanchez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Grenadier.
Grenadier is looking to clinch but Sanchez is avoiding it.

Grenadier is looking to clinch but Sanchez is avoiding it.
Panzer Grenadier is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A decent looking cross lands there for Sanchez.

Sanchez uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Grenadier has time to react.

and Sanchez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Grenadier takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Panzer Grenadier seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Sanchez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Grenadier throws a push kick but Sanchez slaps the foot to one side.

Grenadier leaves Sanchez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Grenadier ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Sanchez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

That was a close second round but I would say that Oswaldo Sanchez will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Panzer Grenadier hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Sanchez counters with a single leg into guard. Grenadier didn't expect that.
Sanchez wants to control from the top but Grenadier keeps moving.
Grenadier is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Grenadier is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sanchez defends it well.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sanchez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
