Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Jabber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Afa Sila!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sila closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sila lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sila trying to control but Jabber is working from the bottom.
Sila thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Sila is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Sila postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jabber is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sila, into his guard.
Jabber trying to control but Sila is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sila is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Sila is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Jabber rolls with it to try and escape but Sila cranks on the arm and Jabber is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Afa Sila!
After winning the bout, Afa Sila thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
