PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Salomao Trindade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Shawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Salomao Trindade has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Salomao Trindade seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rob Shawn!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shawn tries to clinch up but Trindade circles away and keeps his distance.
Trindade throws a wild body kick that Shawn sees coming a mile off.
Trindade lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
An inside leg kick lands from Trindade.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Trindade enables Shawn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Trindade manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Shawn wants to control from the top but Trindade keeps moving.

Trindade is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shawn is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Shawn postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Trindade is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shawn, into his guard.
Trindade wants to pass the guard but Shawn is keeping the position.
Trindade advances position into side control!
Shawn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trindade. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Trindade trying to control the action but Shawn is working from the bottom.
Trindade postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
You can see the frustration on Shawn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Trindade tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Shawn is trying to control Trindade's posture but Trindade avoids it.

Trindade is trying to get an arm triangle but Shawn is defending well.

Trindade thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Trindade is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shawn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Trindade is looking to take a break and control but Shawn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Shawn is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Shawn looks to move to half guard but instead Trindade has passed into mount! Damn!
Trindade wants to control the pace but Shawn is squirming around nicely.
Shawn sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shawn wants to improve his position but Trindade is controlling well.
Trindade missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Trindade seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shawn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Trindade passes to side control.
Trindade wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shawn keeps working.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Trindade in side control, throwing shots but Shawn defends.
Shawn can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Trindade's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Trindade. Shawn shrugs it off though.
Shawn on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Shawn tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Trindade manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Trindade lands a nice leg kick that just misses Shawn's sensitive parts.
Both fighters circling a little - Trindade finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Trindade avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Shawn.
Trindade tries to buck Shawn off but Shawn is having none of it.

Trindade is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Shawn off and has taken his back!

Trindade has managed to slip his arm under Shawn's chin. This could be all over... yep, Shawn is tapping out! Submission win for Trindade.
