Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bj Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reyes's entrance music is SIMULA PA LANG. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bj Cole!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cole.

Reyes gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Reyes lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Bj Cole has been cut.
Cole changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Reyes fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Cole misses with a leg kick
and Reyes counters with a series of strikes. Cole will be more careful next time no doubt.


Cole is rocked!

Cole shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cole was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
An elbow from Cole crashes against the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cole wants to stand but Reyes is controlling his arm.
Reyes pushes Cole away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cole gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reyes bucks up and tries to throw Cole off but instead Cole has got his back!
Reyes trying to control the action but Cole just sinks the hooks in.
Reyes looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

Reyes manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.

Reyes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cole wants to take the fight to the mat but Reyes manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Daniel Reyes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bj Cole.
Nice body punch from Reyes - that landed with a thud.

Reyes breaks from the clinch.

Reyes closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cole to the mat! Cole manages to get full guard.
Cole wants to sweep but no luck.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Reyes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cole, up you get!
Reyes tries to clinch up but Cole circles away and keeps his distance.
Cole throws a wild body kick that Reyes sees coming a mile off.

Cole fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reyes, pushing him back against the cage.
Reyes pushes off an throws an elbow but Cole leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Reyes displaying some good clinch control by pressing Cole up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reyes is pressed up against the cage. Cole has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Reyes down to the mat. Reyes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Reyes tries to clinch up.
Reyes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Reyes wants it to stay on the feet.
Cole shoots in but no luck this time.

Reyes lands a big head kick that sends Cole tumbling to the mat! Reyes takes a step backwards and waves Cole back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Cole is still on wobbly legs! Can Reyes finish him?
Daniel Reyes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Reyes has closed the distance and engaged Cole in a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Reyes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Reyes closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Cole out cold! Cole corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Daniel Reyes!
After the fight, Daniel Reyes was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
