PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Karl Bezuidenhout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blake Daughtry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bezuidenhout throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Daughtry's waist but Daughtry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bezuidenhout off to one side.

Daughtry lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

and Daughtry counters with a nice right hand that sends Bezuidenhout toppling to the canvas! Bezuidenhout scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Daughtry finish him?!

It looks like Karl Bezuidenhout has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Daughtry does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Daughtry changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bezuidenhout looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blake Daughtry has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bezuidenhout.

Daughtry tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bezuidenhout sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Daughtry somewhat.

Daughtry gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bezuidenhout is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Daughtry takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Let's hope that Daughtry has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Daughtry lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Bezuidenhout shoots in looking for a takedown. Daughtry tries to sprawl out of it but Bezuidenhout keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Daughtry manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Daughtry lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bezuidenhout has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bezuidenhout and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
