PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Boleslaw Silny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duck Rhodes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rhodes comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I want to break free kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Silny or perhaps it was just good defense by Rhodes which made him look bad.
Rhodes looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Silny misses with a head kick.
Silny misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silny tries for a takedown but Rhodes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rhodes should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Rhodes shoots in for a takedown but Silny shows good takedown defense.
Rhodes gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Silny counters with a single leg into guard. Rhodes didn't expect that.
Silny tries to free his leg and advance position but Rhodes is retaining full guard.
Silny trying to control the position from guard on top but Rhodes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rhodes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Silny slips nicely into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silny looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rhodes with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Silny is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rhodes defends it well.

Silny is trying to control the action in half guard but Rhodes is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Silny is working to tighten is grip on Rhodes's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Rhodes has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Silny is really squeezing tight and eventually Rhodes passes out! Silny breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
