The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastion fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cherry looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Bastion has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cherry avoids a wild elbow strike from Bastion.
Cherry wants a takedown but no success here.
A frustrated look appears on Bastion's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Cherry is trying to pull guard but Bastion turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Bastion really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cherry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cherry takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Cherry drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Cherry wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bastion, who protects the arm well.

Cherry has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bastion parries the strikes from Cherry easily there. Cherry is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bastion to escape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cherry creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bastion sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Bastion takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Cherry lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bastion down.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cherry throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bastion tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cherry is in Bastion's guard.

Cherry closes the distance and clinches up with Bastion, looking for a takedown. Cherry pushes Bastion against the cage but Bastion circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
