Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Seamon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Connor Taylor!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taylor drives through with a takedown into Seamon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Seamon wants to get back to his feet but Taylor is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Taylor stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Taylor dodges the punch combination from Seamon.

Taylor moves into the clinch successfully.
Seamon goes for a takedown attempt but Taylor pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Taylor closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Taylor is trying to control the action in half guard but Seamon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Seamon wants to improve his position but Taylor is controlling well.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Seamon tries to kick Taylor off but Taylor keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Connor Taylor has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Taylor clinches up against the cage.
Taylor is trying to force a seperation but Seamon has the dominant position.
Taylor lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Seamon.
Seamon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Taylor smiles and moves away.

Taylor clinches up with Seamon and pushes him back against the cage.

Taylor successfully pulls guard.
Taylor looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Seamon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Seamon with a flurry of punches that miss.

Taylor manages to escape and get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Taylor lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


Seamon is rocked!
Connor Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taylor avoids the head kick by Seamon.
Oh Seamon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Taylor drives through and clinches with Seamon against the cage.

Taylor manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Seamon in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Seamon throws a strike but Taylor rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Taylor slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Seamon is breathing heavily.
Taylor lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Taylor stands and throws Seamon's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Seamon is trying to escape the position but Taylor is controlling the position.
Taylor landing strikes.
Taylor creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Seamon sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Seamon seems to have got his legs back now.
Seamon wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Taylor trying to control the action but Seamon is working from the bottom.

Taylor has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Taylor shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Seamon manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Seamon pulls Taylor in to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Connor Taylor dominated that round.
That's time! Seamon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Taylor closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Taylor lands in his opponent's guard.
Taylor trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Connor Taylor hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Taylor looking to score a takedown here. Seamon is defending well but Taylor drives through and ends up in Seamon's guard.

Seamon regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Taylor.

Taylor wants to control from the top but Seamon keeps moving.

Taylor stands up and beckons Seamon to his feet.
Seamon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Taylor swivels and escapes.

Connor Taylor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Seamon drives through and clinches with Taylor against the cage.
Seamon is trying to pull guard but Taylor has him pressed against the cage.
Seamon wants to break free but Taylor has control.

Taylor turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Seamon is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Taylor's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Seamon is staying active underneath Taylor, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Taylor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Seamon's head.
Taylor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Seamon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Taylor is figuring out what he wants to do next.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Taylor throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Seamon tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Taylor is in Seamon's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Taylor tries to free his leg and advance position but Seamon is retaining full guard.

Seamon throws a nice looking combination but Taylor bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Taylor instigates a clinch.

Seamon tries to circle away but Taylor has him pinned against the cage.

Seamon tries to sprawl but Taylor drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Seamon kicks Taylor off and gets back to his feet.

Taylor wants to pass the guard but Seamon is keeping the position.

Seamon is working an open guard so Taylor takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Taylor tries a head kick but it misses.

Taylor fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Seamon, pushing him back against the cage.
Taylor is pressed up against the cage. Seamon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Taylor down to the mat. Taylor avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Taylor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Steve Seamon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Taylor scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Taylor lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Seamon on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Steve Seamon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Taylor is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Taylor is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Seamon sees it coming and defends easily.

Connor Taylor comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Taylor has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
