PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tobby Mcdall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Sin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mcdall might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to http://youtu.be/aa6QUyRqa9w. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tobby Mcdall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lee Sin!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sin looks for the body kick but Mcdall saw that one coming.

Sin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Sin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mcdall doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mcdall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mcdall is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Mcdall is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sin!

Sin is squirming around, avoiding Mcdall's attempts to control the action.

Mcdall is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sin can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Mcdall unloads with some shots from mount but Sin bucks and avoids them well.
Mcdall controlling the pace for now.
Sin is looking to improve his position but Mcdall isn't that keen on the idea.

Mcdall has closed the distance and engaged Sin in a clinch.
Mcdall wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Mcdall clinches with his opponent.
Sin tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Sin tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mcdall avoids it.
Mcdall tries to score a body lock takedown but Sin shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Mcdall breaks from the clinch.
Mcdall keeps the fight on the outside.
Sin fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mcdall throws a leg kick which misses Sin's front leg but catches the back leg as Sin tries to avoid it.

Mcdall clinches.
Mcdall misses with a hook to the ribs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcdall jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sin walks away with a smile on his face. Mcdall gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tobby Mcdall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sin blocks a head kick by Mcdall.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mcdall taking a breather.

Sin drags the fight down to the ground.
Sin wants to stand and escape but Mcdall is having none of it.
Mcdall wants to control from the top but Sin keeps moving.

Sin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mcdall defends well.
Mcdall working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mcdall passes Sin's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tobby Mcdall just wasn't active enough.
Sin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mcdall clobbers Sin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mcdall is defended easily by Sin.
Mcdall looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Mcdall misses with the combination.
Mcdall closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sin circles away.
Mcdall dodges the punch combination from Sin.
Mcdall stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mcdall wants it to stay on the feet.
Mcdall bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Mcdall lands the left hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mcdall but Mcdall pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tobby Mcdall dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Mcdall will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tobby Mcdall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mcdall fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sin, pushing him back against the cage.
Sin is trying to push Mcdall away but Mcdall has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Sin misses with an elbow strike.
Mcdall putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Sin in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Mcdall has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sin uses from the top position.

Mcdall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mcdall can't keep his opponent in guard - Sin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Sin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mcdall regains full guard. Nicely done.
Tobby Mcdall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mcdall scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Mcdall tries for a takedown but Sin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Mcdall pushes Sin up against the cage in a clinch.
Sin misses with a hook to the ribs.
Sin struggles to land a body shot inside as Mcdall controls his hands.
Sin tries to circle away but Mcdall has him pinned against the cage.

Sin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mcdall shoots in looking for a takedown. Sin tries to sprawl out of it but Mcdall keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Mcdall takes the fight into the clinch.

Sin can't get the takedown.
Mcdall landing knees to the head.
Sin misses with the head strike.
Mcdall stops a takedown attempt from Sin.

Mcdall pulls Sin into guard.
Sin's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Mcdall is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sin controls from within his opponent's guard.

Sin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mcdall has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sin has managed to get both his arms back between Mcdall's legs - danger averted.
Sin wants to pass the guard but Mcdall is keeping the position.

Mcdall pushes Sin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Sin moves in looking to clinch but Mcdall pushes him off.
Lee Sin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tobby Mcdall is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mcdall paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Tobby Mcdall showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Mcdall has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
