The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tolstyak tries a head kick but it misses.
Kourtesiotis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Tolstyak counters with a solid body kick.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tolstyak can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kourtesiotis is looking for a kimura but Tolstyak is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kourtesiotis to get the leverage.

Kourtesiotis is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tolstyak is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Tolstyak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kourtesiotis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tolstyak pushes Kourtesiotis away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kourtesiotis gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Kourtesiotis has an Americana. Tolstyak didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Kourtesiotis is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Kourtesiotis hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
