PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Coryatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastian Belousov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coryatt comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome 2 Houston. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Coryatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Sebastian Belousov!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belousov tries to close the distance and clinch but Coryatt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Coryatt shoots in and bounces Belousov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Coryatt gets to his feet. Belousov looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Coryatt lands a nice shot that snaps Belousov's head back.
Belousov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A solid body kick from Coryatt.
Belousov doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Coryatt closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Belousov's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Coryatt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Belousov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Belousov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Coryatt drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Belousov dives on top into guard.

Belousov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Coryatt is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Belousov, into his guard.

Coryatt stands up and waves to Belousov to follow him.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Coryatt, right into the meat.
Coryatt throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Belousov throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Coryatt throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Belousov on the side of the head.

Coryatt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Coryatt just content to control the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Coryatt's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Belousov is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Coryatt asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Belousov is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

and Coryatt counters with a nice low kick that buckles Belousov's knee momentarily.

Belousov stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Coryatt.

Coryatt turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Belousov has his takedown stuffed
and Coryatt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kevin Coryatt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sebastian Belousov.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Coryatt connects with a high kick.

Coryatt fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Belousov to the ground. Coryatt is now in Belousov's guard.
Coryatt has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Coryatt is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Coryatt makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Belousov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Coryatt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Coryatt wants to control from the top but Belousov keeps moving.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Coryatt won't allow Belousov to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Coryatt dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Coryatt throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Belousov's head.

Sebastian Belousov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Coryatt has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because Kevin Coryatt wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Coryatt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Coryatt scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Coryatt jabs Belousov right on the nose. Belousov blinks but takes it well.
Belousov tries for a takedown but Coryatt circles away easily
and Coryatt counters with a nice leg kick.
Coryatt thows a body shot but no joy.

and Coryatt counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Belousov is trying desperately to land a takedown but Coryatt is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Belousov.

Coryatt bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Kevin Coryatt is winning the standup battle so far.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Belousov is defended easily by Coryatt.
A slapping leg kick lands for Coryatt.
A punch lands to the side of Belousov 's head but he takes it in his stride.

and Coryatt counters with a left to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Coryatt lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

and Coryatt counters with an inside leg kick.
Belousov's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Belousov walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Coryatt scores with a sloppy right hand. Belousov should have avoided that one.
Belousov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Coryatt sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Coryatt lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Coryatt.


Belousov is rocked!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Coryatt, right into the meat.
Coryatt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Belousov can do to turn this around?
Coryatt lands with a straight right. Belousov didn't see that one coming.
Belousov is still on wobbly legs! Can Coryatt finish him?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Belousov walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Belousov tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Coryatt connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Coryatt connects with a single shot there.
Belousov has his takedown stuffed
and Coryatt counters with a nice leg kick.
Whack! Coryatt lands a heavy head kick that drops Belousov. The ref tackles Coryatt to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Belousov was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Kevin Coryatt!
After the fight, Kevin Coryatt was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
