Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Micheals!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Igor Gago!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gago bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gago is working to tighten is grip on Micheals's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Micheals has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gago is really squeezing tight and eventually Micheals passes out! Gago breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Igor Gago!
Igor Gago was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
