The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawrence throws a leg kick but Mikado checks it.
Lawrence has managed to clinch.
Lawrence takes an elbow to the forehead.

Lawrence circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mikado throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mikado moves into range and clinches up with Lawrence.

Let's hope that Mikado has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We're going to have a standup here because Pete Lawrence wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Stuart Mikado was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Lawrence keeps the fight on the outside.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Pete Lawrence will probably get the nod.

The referee calls for Mikado to work.
Mikado is trying to maintain a safe position but Lawrence gets an underhook and turns Mikado into the cage.

Mikado gets tackled into the cage by Lawrence. Lawrence maintains the clinch.

Mikado has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lawrence uses from the top position.

Lawrence is sitting in close to Mikado's body. Mikado has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lawrence is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lawrence is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Mikado.
