Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anderson Dos Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Hemingway!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos Santos with a poor takedown

so Hemingway counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hemingway has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dos Santos is proving hard to escape from.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hemingway landing some decent shots from guard.

Dos Santos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hemingway with a nice head shot there.
Hemingway has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dos Santos is proving hard to escape from.
Hemingway slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hemingway wants to control from the top but Dos Santos keeps moving.

Dos Santos working for a triangle but Hemingway defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hemingway stands and steps away. Dos Santos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Hemingway moves into range and clinches up with Dos Santos.
Dos Santos is looking to control Hemingway's arms but Hemingway gets an underhook and turns him. Now Dos Santos has his back to the cage.
Dos Santos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hemingway walks away with a smile on his face. Dos Santos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Dos Santos misses with a takedown
and Hemingway counters with a left to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Dos Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sloppy strikes from Hemingway. Those never looked like landing.
Dos Santos shoots and misses

and Hemingway decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dos Santos's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hemingway pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dos Santos is keeping the position for now.
Hemingway makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hemingway stands up over Dos Santos, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hemingway advances position into side control!
Dos Santos is looking for a sweep.

Hemingway decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dos Santos to his feet.

Hemingway looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Dos Santos actively working from the bottom here.
Hemingway works his foot free and advances to mount.
Dos Santos takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dos Santos is squirming around, avoiding Hemingway's attempts to control the action.
Hemingway lands a heavy elbow.


Dos Santos is rocked!


It looks like Anderson Dos Santos has been cut.
Dos Santos wants to hold on but Hemingway pushes him away.
Oh Dos Santos is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hemingway is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Dos Santos goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Hemingway!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). James Hemingway!
Our winner, James Hemingway, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
