The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heineken dives in and grabs Barnes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barnes pushes down on Heineken's head and hops out.
Heineken misses with a head kick.
Barnes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Heineken.
Michel Heineken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Heineken misses with a wild body shot.

Heineken clinches up against the cage.

Heineken gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Barnes wants to sweep here but Heineken controlling him for the moment.

Barnes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Heineken defends well.
Heineken throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barnes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Heineken sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Heineken wants to pass the guard but Barnes is keeping the position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Heineken accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Heineken stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Barnes throws up his legs and catches Heineken in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Heineken tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Barnes! That came out of nowhere!
