And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Mic!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mic darts in and clinches Montilo up against the cage.
Mic gets underhooks to prevent Montilo's takedown attempt.
Montilo is looking to take this one to the mat.
Mic avoiding damage.
Mic has a couple of punches blocked by Montilo.

Montilo works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Mic keeping full guard, as Montilo tries to pass.
Mic preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Mic utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Montilo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Montilo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Montilo trying to control but Mic is working from the bottom.
Montilo is really struggling to control Mic but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Montilo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Montilo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Montilo passes into half guard.
Mic keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Montilo trying to pass the guard but Mic defending well.

Montilo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mic looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Montilo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Montilo wants to pass to mount but Mic is defending the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Montilo controlling the pace.
Montilo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Montilo is working for a submission of some sort.
Montilo lands strikes from half guard.
Montilo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Mic is trying to stand back up but Montilo is controlling him
Montilo not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Montilo thows a huge punch but Mic dodges it nicely.
Montilo wants to free his trapped foot but Mic is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Mic avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Montilo.
Montilo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Montilo works his foot free and advances to mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Montilo throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodrigo Montilo dominated that round.
That's time! Montilo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Mic closes the distance and lands a one-two.
A swing and a miss from Mic.

Mic closes the distance and clinches.
Mic misses with a hook from the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Montilo.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Montilo obliges.
Montilo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mic walks away with a smile on his face. Montilo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mic misses with the combination.
Mic misses with a series of wild punches.

Mic fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Montilo, pushing him back against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Montilo tries to pull guard but Mic won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Montilo softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Montilo pulls Mic into guard.
Montilo is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Montilo is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Mic frees his head nicely. Oh but Montilo has switched to an armbar! Mic is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Rodrigo Montilo!
A very excited looking Rodrigo Montilo made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
