Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Neptune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Brennan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nate Brennan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neptune gets a takedown into half guard.
Brennan is looking to improve his position.
Neptune landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Brennan is looking for a sweep. Neptune is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brennan blocking the ground and pound attempt from Neptune.
Neptune is pressing down on Brennan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Brennan is holding on for now.
Neptune trying to control from half guard but Brennan is working away.

Neptune is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brennan defends it well.

Brennan misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Neptune throws a low kick but it's checked well by Brennan.
Neptune misses with a two punch combination.

Neptune closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Neptune fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Brennan tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Neptune takes a knee right on the jaw!

Neptune escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neptune is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Brennan looks to clinch

and Neptune counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Neptune wants to pass the guard but Brennan is defending well.

Neptune postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Brennan to stand up.
Brennan tries to clinch but Neptune moves away

and Neptune counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Brennan!
Brennan keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Neptune trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Neptune takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Brennan bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Brennan throws a strike but Neptune rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Neptune wanted to stand there but Brennan had control of the position.
Neptune is breathing heavily.

Neptune is in close to Brennan's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Brennan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Brennan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Neptune is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brennan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brennan has escaped and now he's on top!
Neptune has a closed guard, preventing Brennan from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson Neptune dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Brennan tries to clinch but Neptune moves away

and Neptune counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Well, if Neptune is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neptune seems to be looking for submissions.
Brennan tries to roll over but Neptune keeps him under control.

Neptune is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brennan defends it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Neptune throws a strike but Brennan avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Brennan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Neptune!

Brennan postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Neptune in real trouble here! The ref calls for Neptune to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
