Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Tank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramirez comes to the cage accompanied by Slipknot - Surfacing. Frank Tank will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anthony Ramirez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Tank! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ramirez shoots in for a double leg but Tank sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Ramirez steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tank. Ramirez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ramirez stands up and beckons Tank to his feet. Ramirez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tank circles away. Ramirez is breathing heavily. Ramirez shoots in for a double leg but Tank sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Ramirez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Some wild striking there from Tank.
Ramirez takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Tank looks to throw the jab but Ramirez is out of range. Tank gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tank wants to sweep here but Ramirez controlling him for the moment. Tank pushes Ramirez off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Tank throws a right and a left that Ramirez avoids nicely. Horrible takedown by Tank or perhaps it was just good defense by Ramirez which made him look bad. Nice straight punches there by Tank. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Tank. Frank Tank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ramirez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tank with a poor takedown and Ramirez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tank won't be happy with that. Ramirez tries to advance to mount but Tank denies him. Ramirez is working hard here to advance position. Tank manages to get back to half guard. Ramirez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ramirez wants to stand up but Tank has a hold of him and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramirez trying to advance position but Tank counters by regaining guard. Ramirez postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ramirez tries to free his leg and advance position but Tank is retaining full guard. Tank tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ramirez prevents Tank from getting back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tank scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Anthony Ramirez has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tank throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ramirez. Ramirez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Ramirez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Ramirez moves into the clinch. Tank tries to pull guard but Ramirez won't allow it.
Tank tries to break the clinch but Ramirez is controlling the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ramirez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Tank regains guard immediately. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tank is on top in guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ramirez is looking to stand up but Tank isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anthony Ramirez dominated that round. The cut man is working on Anthony Ramirez's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ramirez fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Tank swinging wilding here.
Tank swings for the body but Ramirez moves out of range.
Tank jabs Ramirez right on the nose. Ramirez blinks but takes it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramirez moves in looking to clinch but Tank pushes him off. Ramirez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tank to the mat! Tank manages to get full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tank is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tank throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Ramirez wants to get up but he can't break Tank's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Tank wants to stand but Ramirez is controlling the position. Ramirez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tank is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ramirez, into his guard. Ramirez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tank is staying active underneath Ramirez, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Tank gets back to full guard.
Ramirez wanted to stand there but Tank had control of the position. Ramirez trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Tank looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ramirez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tank works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramirez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ramirez throws a big right hand that misses. Ramirez gets to his feet - Tank follows without any prompting. Tank gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Tank working a defensive guard here.
Ramirez stands up from guard. Let's bang! Ramirez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ramirez closes the distance and clinches. Ramirez has Tank pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ramirez pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Tank tumbling to the mat - Ramirez dives into Tank's guard. Ramirez drops back looking for a leg! Tank is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tank manages to kick Ramirez off! Ramirez jumps back into Tank's guard. Tank is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anthony Ramirez dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Anthony Ramirez's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Tank gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Tank has a closed guard, preventing Ramirez from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ramirez postures up.
Anthony Ramirez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ramirez wants to stand but Tank is controlling his posture from full guard. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ramirez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Ramirez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Tank can't do much from the bottom here. Ramirez advances to mount. Ramirez stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Tank takes a swing at Ramirez's ribcage but misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramirez fails to land with a series of punches.
A lazy left from Tank finds it's target. Ramirez moves in looking to clinch but Tank pushes him off. Tank swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ramirez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tank's guard. Ramirez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ramirez trying to control but Tank is working from the bottom. Tank scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A jab from Tank misses. Ramirez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Frank Tank has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ramirez is trying to work for a kimura but Tank is defending well.
Tank pushes Ramirez off and gets back to his feet. Ramirez tries to clinch up. Ramirez shoots in and drives through. Tank sprawls well.
And that's the end of the fight! Anthony Ramirez showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ramirez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
