Akimura has chosen The Good and the Bad as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akimura misses with a straight right.
Rampage displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Akimura throws out the jab.
Akimura looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rampage is fending him off so far but Akimura persists. Nope, Rampage circles away and we're back to standing.
Akimura should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Akimura fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rampage manages to avoid it.
Rampage defending well as Akimura loads up on a big left hand.
Akimura misses with a wild body shot.
Rampage fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rampage moves out of range of the strikes.
Akimura loads up on a big right hand but Rampage slips the punch.
Akimura throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Akimura fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rampage manages to avoid it.
Akimura avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Akimura misses with an uppercut.
Akimura throws a jab but it's blocked by Rampage.
Akimura circles away from the clinch attempt

and Akimura counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rampage won't be happy with that.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Akimura is looking to take a break and control but Rampage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Akimura is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Rampage is trying to escape and Akimura transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Rampage is forced to tap! Nice work there by Akimura! Very nice indeed!
