PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Xavier Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bethany Noel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Xavier Armstrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bethany Noel!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noel attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Armstrong slips a straight right by Noel.
Noel throws a leg kick but Armstrong sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Armstrong circles away from the clinch attempt.
Armstrong tries to land a front kick but Noel steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Noel avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Armstrong is looking to clinch but Noel is avoiding it.
Noel takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Bethany Noel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Noel throws a looping overhand right but Armstrong ducks down to avoid it.
Noel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Noel misses with a wild body shot.
Noel tries a head kick but it misses.
Armstrong moves out of range of the strikes.
Armstrong throws the kick towards the body but Noel avoids it.
Noel connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Armstrong displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Noel throws out the jab.
Noel throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Armstrong tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Noel was well out of range. Poor timing from Armstrong.
Armstrong keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Nice shot lands for Armstrong.
Noel just misses with a punch to the body.
Noel dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Armstrong. That did some damage!
Armstrong throws a quick inside leg kick.
Armstrong uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Noel.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Noel scores with a shot to the body.
Armstrong tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Armstrong has Noel up against the ropes in a clinch.
Armstrong unloads a knee to the mid-section. Noel lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Armstrong misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Noel.
Noel wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Armstrong tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Noel avoids it.

Noel breaks from the clinch.
Armstrong ducks under a wild hook from Noel.
Armstrong tries to clinch up but Noel circles away and keeps his distance.
Armstrong takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Armstrong steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Noel.
No joy there for Armstrong, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Noel throws a body punch but Armstrong moves out of range.
Noel dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Noel lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Armstrong misses with a kick to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Noel throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Armstrong misses with a body kick.
Armstrong fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Noel is out of range.

Noel lands a head kick that bluckles Armstrong and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Noel no doubt looking to push for a finish!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Having scored a knockdown, Bethany Noel should take round 1, putting pressure on his opponene back strong in round 2.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Noel catches Armstrong napping and connects with a fantastic 3 punch combination that sends Armstrong crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but he's all over the place - can he beat the count?!? 4,5,6,7,8...9...10! He didn't make it back to his feet! Noel raises both arms skywards and takes in the roar from the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Bethany Noel!
A relieved looking Bethany Noel thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
