Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Samurai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathayus Fane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas Samurai has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Samurai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mathayus Fane!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fane lands an overhand right.

Fane throws a nice looking combination but Samurai bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mathayus Fane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fane misses with a straight left.
Fane connects with the punch.
Fane dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Samurai moves forwards but Fane connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Fane throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Fane is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Samurai fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Samurai counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Samurai.

Fane feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Samurais jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Fane connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Samurai uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fane.
Fane throws out a powerful jab.
Mathayus Fane is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A decent looking cross lands there for Fane.
Fane throws a body punch but Samurai moves out of range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Fane, as that shot connected.

Fane slaps away a takedown attempt from Samurai, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Samurai feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Samurai thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fane's head.
Fane is not content to let Samurai control the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fane fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Samurai looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Fane lands with an uppercut that bounces Samurai off the cage and back into range.
Samurai has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Fane finds it's way round the side to connect with Samurai's head.

Samurai shoots in for a takedown but Fane shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Fane connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Samurai's hands.
Fane connects with a right hand. Samurai shakes it off.
Samurai uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Fane.
Samurai fails to land the takedown.
Fane takes a swing at Samurai's ribcage but misses.
Fane has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Fane lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Samurai circles away quickly and effectively.
Fane lands a head shot.
Lucas Samurai is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Samurai displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fane throws out the jab.
Fane scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Samurai doesn't seem bothered though.

Samurai shoots for a double leg takedown but Fane sprawls well. He's pushed Samurai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Samurai shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Fane throws an overhand right that lands on Samurai's shoulder, as Samurai tries to avoid the shot.

It looks like Mathayus Fane has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Samurai perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Fane is still in real trouble! Can Samurai finish him?

Fane seems to have recovered his senses.
Samurai wants to take a breather but Fane is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Lucas Samurai just wasn't active enough.

Fane throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Samurai.
Fane stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fane wants it to stay on the feet.
Nice takedown defense from Fane. No joy for Samurai on that attempt.

Samurai closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fane can do anything to dispel that myth.

Samurai is staying tight to Fane's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Samurai wants to control but Fane is keeping him busy.
Fane is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Samurai has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Samurai is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Samurai cracks Fane with an elbow. That is naaassty.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Samurai is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Fane throws a hook to the side of Samurai's head but Samurai sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Samurai moves out of range as Fane strikes.
Fane misses with a looping left.
Fane jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Fane showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Samurai.

Fane swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Samurai counters with a massive head kick! KABOOM! Fane is out cold! A devastating KO!
