Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Renato King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Payet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King comes to the cage accompanied by Supreme court hymn. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Payet misses.
King throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Payet stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Payet looks to land a left hand but King moved out of range nicely.
King avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
King ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
King gets a double leg takedown into Payet's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Payet wants to sweep but no luck.
King looking to pass the guard.
Payet being controlled here, momentarily.

We're going to have a standup here because Renato King wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
King fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
King stuns Payet with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
King throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Payet fails to land with a series of punches.
Payet thows a body shot but no joy.
Payet misses with a body shot.
Payet stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Payet wants it to stay on the feet.
Jonathan Payet is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice cross by King.

Payet tries to clinch but King moves out of range.
King scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Payet trying to remain calm as King controls from the top position.
King's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Payet can do anything to dispel that myth.

Payet avoids any damage from the ground and pound of King.
King lands a few punches from side control.

King landing strikes.
King has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Payet is trying to get back to half guard.
King lands an elbow.
Payet is looking to reverse the position.
Payet taking punishment in the form of punches.
King cracks Payet with a big elbow.
King trying to control the position but Payet is working away.
Payet trying to remain calm as King controls from the top position.

King in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
King tries for a kimura but Payet is defending well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Payet taking a bit of punishment here - King scoring with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Payet's face as King controls the position.
Payet takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Payet is trying to control King's posture but King avoids it.
King lands an elbow.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
King controlling from side mount.
King working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Renato King dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Payet looks to land a combination. King sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Payet looks to score with a jab to the body but King is just out of range.
King swings away with a body shot that misses
and Payet counters with a straight right hand.
King lands with an uppercut that bounces Payet off the cage and back into range.
Payet just misses with a punch to the body.
Payet wants to clinch.
King shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Payet sprawls well. Payet wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. King gets slowly back to his feet.
Payet gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! King gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Payet is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Renato King!
