The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minneo throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Minneo connects with a high kick.
Minneo lands a right hook to the body.
Willems motions for Minneo to come forward. Willems throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Willems just misses with a punch to the body.
Willems steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Minneo. That one must have hurt.
Lyle Willems seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Willems misses the shot to the body.
Willems walks into a left hand.
Willems scores with a jab to the body.
Minneo avoids a kick to the body.
Willems moves forwards but Minneo connects with a nice, crisp jab.
A nice leg kick lands there from Minneo.
Willems misses with a low kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Willems falls off balance throwing a combination
and Minneo counters with a stiff right hand.
Minneo avoids the body shot from Willems.
Willems avoids the head kick by Minneo.
Willems blocks a head kick by Minneo.
Minneo throws a head kick but Willems moves out of range.
Minneo scores with a hook to the body. Willems takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Willems throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Willems throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Minneo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Willems swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Minneo counters with a head kick. That will keep Willems thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Willems throws a hook but Minneo avoids it easily.
Willems misses the shot to the body.
Willems gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Minneo counters with an outside leg kick.
Willems thows a body shot but no joy.
Willems misses the shot to the body.
Minneo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Willems is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Minneo rather than just go for the knockout.
Willems takes a kick to the side of the head.

Willems is rocked!
Minneo finds Willems's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Willems flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Minneo lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Willems will be OK.
