The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards throws a hook but Johnson blocks it.
Edwards fails with a takedown attempt.
Johnson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Johnson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Edwards to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like John Johnson has been cut.
Edwards closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Johnson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Edwards just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Johnson tries to stall but Edwards uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Johnson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Edwards is defending well.
Edwards changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Johnson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Chris Edwards seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Edwards looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Johnson is thwarting Edwards's attempts to control the position.

Johnson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Edwards regains full guard. Nicely done.
Edwards working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Edwards is tightening it up a little... Johnson has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Johnson reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Johnson taps out! Nice BJJ there by Edwards!
