The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blimm pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Blimm throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Renner is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Blimm's half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blimm wants to control but Renner is keeping busy.

Blimm blocking the ground and pound attempt from Renner.
Renner thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Renner working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Renner is nestled in close to Blimm, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Renner is taking a breather. Blimm says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Renner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
