PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Connor Tsosie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor Tsosie will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Doe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Connor Tsosie!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe moves in looking to clinch but Tsosie pushes him off.
John Doe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tsosie rushes Doe and presses him up against the ropes.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Tsosie lands a hook that snaps the head of Doe backwards.
Doe is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Tsosie is defending well.
Doe has had enough of the clinch but Tsosie keeps him there for the moment.
Doe wants to get back to striking at distance but Tsosie won't allow it.
Doe can't break the clinch.
Tsosie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tsosie trying to control the position but instead, Doe has worked for underhooks and has pushed Tsosie into the ropes.
Doe jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tsosie walks away with a smile on his face. Doe gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tsosie comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Tsosie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Doe. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tsosie has managed to clinch.
Doe jumps guard but Tsosie turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.

Tsosie is looking to break free of the clinch but Doe has double underhooks.
Tsosie is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

Doe changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tsosie fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Doe fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tsosie lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Doe shoots in looking for a takedown. Tsosie tries to sprawl out of it but Doe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Tsosie manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Doe scores with a takedown into Tsosie's guard.
Tsosie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Doe is one step ahead there.
Doe works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Doe looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Tsosie trying to hold on to Doe's head to control him but Doe postures up.
Doe throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Tsosie to regain full guard.

Doe trying to control the position from guard on top but Tsosie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Doe postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tsosie is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Doe, into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Doe has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Tsosie should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Doe has tightened it up now! Tsosie should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). John Doe!
John Doe spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
