Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Baraccho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devon Hess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oscar Baraccho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Devon Hess!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baraccho throws a series of punches but Hess avoids them all with ease.

Baraccho drives through with a takedown into guard.
Baraccho throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hess works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Baraccho wants to get up but he can't break Hess's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Baraccho drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hess manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Baraccho has Hess in his guard.
Baraccho not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hess throwing strikes but missing.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Baraccho holds on and takes a little breather.
Hess in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Hess wants to control from the top but Baraccho keeps moving.
Baraccho trying to keep a closed guard but Hess is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Oscar Baraccho wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Hess tries to close the distance and clinch up but Baraccho swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Baraccho.
Hess shoots in for a double leg but Baraccho sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Baraccho walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Baraccho tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hess swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Baraccho is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hess.
Hess fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hess wants to clinch up but Baraccho keeps it at a distance.

and Baraccho holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hess is working for takedown but Baraccho is calmly controlling the position for now.
Oscar Baraccho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Devon Hess.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Baraccho breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Baraccho fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hess to the ground. Baraccho is now in Hess's guard.
Hess keeping moving, preventing Baraccho from controlling successfully.

Hess is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Baraccho is aware though and is defending well.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Baraccho's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hess manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Baraccho manages to get himself to full guard.

Baraccho wants to sweep but no luck.
Baraccho is trying to control the position but Hess postures up.
Hess trying to control but Baraccho is working from the bottom.

Baraccho escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hess gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hess is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Baraccho is breathing heavily.

Hess avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hess wants to control from the top but Baraccho keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hess looking to sit in guard and control but Baraccho gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hess is trying to keep Baraccho in close.
Baraccho trying to control the position from guard on top but Hess is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hess is trying to keep Baraccho in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Oscar Baraccho will probably get the nod.
That's time! Baraccho's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Baraccho misses with a takedown attempt - Hess sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
No luck for Baraccho with that takedown attempt.
Baraccho stuffs the takedown.
Horrible takedown by Baraccho or perhaps it was just good defense by Hess which made him look bad.

Hess is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Devon Hess has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Hess is trying hard to land a takedown here. Baraccho sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hess misses with a double jab
and Baraccho counters with a stiff right hand.

Baraccho shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hess as he jumps to the side.
Hess changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Hess shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Baraccho manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Baraccho has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Hess won't allow Baraccho to sweep him here.

Hess wants to control from the top but Baraccho keeps moving.
Baraccho manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hess regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hess moves into full guard.
Baraccho trying to control but Hess is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Baraccho trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Hess manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Hess is looking to stand up but Baraccho won't let him.
Baraccho is trying to keep Hess in close.
Hess is looking to work some ground and pound but Baraccho has wrist control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hess looking to sit in guard and control but Baraccho gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Baraccho is stalling in the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Devon Hess will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Hess keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hess fails to land the takedown.
Hess closes the distance and clinches up with Baraccho, looking for a takedown. Hess pushes Baraccho against the cage but Baraccho circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hess throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Hess shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Baraccho eats them both and turns towards Hess to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

and Baraccho decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hess's guard.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Baraccho drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Baraccho jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Baraccho passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Hess is looking for a sweep.

Baraccho wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hess keeps working.
Hess is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Baraccho is controlling him well.

Baraccho stands up.
Baraccho shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hess lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Baraccho has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Baraccho and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Baraccho shoots in and drives through. Hess sprawls well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Left hook, right uppercut from Hess.

Hess rushes Baraccho and presses him up against the cage.
Hess is working for takedown but Baraccho is calmly controlling the position for now.

Baraccho jumps into guard, dragging Hess to the mat.
Hess wants to control from the top but Baraccho keeps moving.
Hess is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Hess throwing strikes but missing.
Baraccho preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Baraccho looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Baraccho working for a triangle but Hess defends it easily.

Hess stands up from Baraccho's guard - Hess perhaps looking for a knockout.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hess is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Oscar Baraccho.
I think Baraccho has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
