Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Terrence Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randall McMurphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terrence Hardy has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMurphy shoots in and drives through. Hardy sprawls well.
A bone on bone clash there as Hardy blocks the leg kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
McMurphy lands a shot to the body.
McMurphy wants to take the fight to the mat but Hardy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
McMurphy is working for takedown but Hardy is calmly controlling the position for now.
Terrence Hardy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randall McMurphy.
McMurphy gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hardy.

Hardy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hardy tries to clinch there but McMurphy circles away.
McMurphy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hardy as he avoids it easily.

Hardy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
McMurphy is trying to control but Hardy passes into side control!

Hardy is trying to ground and pound but McMurphy uses the momentary lack of control by Hardy to regain half guard.
McMurphy wants to control but Hardy is keeping busy.

Hardy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McMurphy on the ground.

Hardy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McMurphy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hardy, into his guard.
Hardy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hardy tries to get out of the position.

McMurphy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hardy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McMurphy.
McMurphy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

McMurphy stands up out of the half guard.
McMurphy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hardy throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McMurphy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hardy is in McMurphy's guard.
Hardy is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hardy's corner is telling him to maintain position.
McMurphy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hardy's guard.
McMurphy works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Hardy wants to control but McMurphy is having none of it.
McMurphy wants to control the pace but Hardy is squirming around nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Randall McMurphy will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

McMurphy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hardy but Hardy pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hardy enables McMurphy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hardy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Randall McMurphy hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

McMurphy closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hardy's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hardy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Randall McMurphy has got the better of the ground game so far.

McMurphy decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hardy, up you get!

Hardy has McMurphy up against the cage in a clinch.
Hardy is pushing McMurphy up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
McMurphy is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
McMurphy is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

McMurphy pulls Hardy into guard.
Hardy looking to sit in guard and control but McMurphy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
McMurphy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

McMurphy decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
McMurphy tries to close the distance and clinch but Hardy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hardy throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Hardy misses with a takedown attempt - McMurphy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
McMurphy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hardy swats away the attempt to clinch by McMurphy.

McMurphy shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
McMurphy lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hardy is not content to let McMurphy control the position.

McMurphy uses his free foot to push down on Hardy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hardy.

McMurphy stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hardy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McMurphy lands a jab to Hardy's midsection.

Randall McMurphy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
