Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christian Guzman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Kemp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christian Guzman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Adam Kemp!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kemp rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Guzman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kemp moves into the clinch.
Guzman changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kemp fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Guzman forces Kemp back against the cage and clinches.

Kemp breaks from the clinch.
Guzman shoots in looking for a takedown. Kemp tries to sprawl out of it but Guzman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kemp manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kemp lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Guzman backs up against the cage.
Guzman tries to clinch but Kemp moves away

and Kemp counters with a left and a right that hurts Guzman! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Kemp jumps into full mount!


Guzman is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Guzman is looking to get to half guard.
Oh Guzman is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Guzman tries to hold on but Kemp pushes him away.
Guzman seems to have got his legs back now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Guzman bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Guzman won't allow Kemp to sweep him here.
Kemp preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Kemp is trying to keep Guzman in close.
Guzman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Guzman tries to free his leg and advance position but Kemp is retaining full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kemp working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Guzman.
Kemp preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Kemp is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Guzman doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kemp counters with a series of strikes. Guzman will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christian Guzman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Guzman tries to clinch but Kemp is having none of it.
Guzman misses with a double jab.
Guzman shoots in for a takedown but Kemp shows good takedown defense.
Kemp cracks Guzman with a right hand to the side of the head.
Guzman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Guzman. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kemp forces Guzman back against the cage and clinches.

Kemp escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kemp misses with the combination.
A telegraphed right hand from Kemp misses the target.
Guzman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Guzman is looking to clinch but Kemp is avoiding it.
Guzman has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Guzman swats away the attempt to clinch by Kemp.
Guzman with a poor takedown
and Kemp connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Guzman tries for a takedown but Kemp sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters circle momentarily. Kemp darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kemp punishes Guzman's body with a nice straight punch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Guzman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Kemp counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Kemp scores with a hook to the body.
Guzman is breathing heavily.

Guzman has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kemp clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Kemp is trying to stand back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kemp trying to control the hands but Guzman won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Kemp dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kemp lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Guzman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kemp as he jumps to the side.
Kemp misses with a double jab.
Oooh a lovely combination from Kemp sends Guzman down but not out. Kemp dives into side control looking to finish.
Kemp is looking to take a break and control but Guzman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kemp misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kemp tries to move to mount but Guzman blocks the move with his legs.
Kemp just content to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Guzman is not content to let Kemp control the position.
Guzman throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kemp trying to control the action but Guzman is working from the bottom.
Guzman is looking for a sweep.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kemp swats away the attempt to clinch by Guzman.
Guzman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Kemp holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kemp is trying to break free.
A right hand to the body from Kemp.

Kemp escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Guzman scores with a sloppy right hand. Kemp should have avoided that one.
Kemp keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Guzman.
Guzman shoots for a double leg takedown but Kemp sprawls well. He's pushed Guzman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christian Guzman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Guzman walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Adam Kemp seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kemp lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Guzman falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
