PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wa Sa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sa comes to the cage accompanied by Fat Lip. The crowd seem to be enjoying Do's choice of entrance music: The Godfather Theme Song. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wa Sa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Do!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sa throws a head kick that misses.
Sa throws a lazy head kick
and Do counters with a left and a right that stings Sa.
Sa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Do moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sa misses with a double jab
and Do counters with a left and a right that stings Sa.
Sa throws a head kick but Do moves out of range.
Sa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sa shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Sa throws a head kick that misses
and Do counters with a stiff right hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sa. Do does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sa misses with a hook
and Do counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Do slips a jab from Sa.
Sa looks to land a left hand but Do moved out of range nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sa jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sa misses with a body kick.
Wa Sa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sa throws a series of punches but Do moves out of range.
Wa Sa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A punch lands to the side of Do 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Sa lands a jab.
Sa looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sa throws a head kick that misses.
Sa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sa avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sa on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

and Do counters with a series of strikes. Sa will be more careful next time no doubt.

Do throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sa misses with a head kick.
Sa throws an off balance right hand
and Do cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sa throws a head kick that misses
and Do counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Sa throws a sloppy head kick and Do moves out of range easily.
Sa looks to land a body kick but Do moved away.
Sa throws a left and a right that both miss
and Do counters with a stiff right hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice defenses there by Do.
Sa tries a head kick but it misses.
Sa throws a big shot that misses.
Sa throws a shot from downtown. Do moves away and avoids it.
Do uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sa.
Do throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Some wild striking there from Sa.
Sa throws a sloppy head kick and Do moves out of range easily.
A clash of legs there as Do blocks the low kick.
Sa attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sa throws a lazy head kick
and Do counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Do comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Do throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sa was covering up waiting for the punch and Do finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Do lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Do passes into half guard.

Sa looking for submissions off his back.
Sa is breathing heavily.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Do lands a nice short elbow.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Do wants to take a breather but Sa is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Do dominated that round.
That's time! Sa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Good work by Do as he checks the leg kick.
Sa throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Do counters with a left to the body.
Sa scores with a nice head shot.
Sa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Do moves away.
Do lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Do avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sa looks to land a right hand but Do moved out of range.

Sa misses with a shot to the body
and Do counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Sa! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Do!
Michael Do tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
