And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Jones!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Golgota scores a takedown into full mount!
Jones tries to hold on but Golgota postures up.
Jones has given up his back here.
Golgota is not going to allow Jones to sit and survive in this position.
Golgota cracks Jones with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Jones from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Jones has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Jones trying to control but not successfully.

Jones tries to escape the position.
Jones trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Golgota has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Jones's body.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Golgota is controlling the position but Jones somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Golgota is keen to just control but Jones is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Golgota wants to free his trapped foot but Jones is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Jones is looking to control Golgota's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jones avoid being mounted?
Jones tries to get to full guard but Golgota has control of the leg.

Golgota is trying to control the action in half guard but Jones is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Golgota has his takedown stuffed

and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Golgota's guard.
Golgota looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Golgota is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Golgota holds on and takes a little breather.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Golgota is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Golgota controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.
Jones won't allow Golgota to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Golgota is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Golgota gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Golgota trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Golgota has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Jones wants to sweep here but Golgota controlling him for the moment.
Jones is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Golgota dives into side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jones tries to buck Golgota off but Golgota is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jones misses with the body kick

and Golgota counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Golgota.
Jones is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Jones trying to control the position.

Jones throws his legs up looking for a submission but Golgota uses it to pass to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Andrew Golgota will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Golgota fails with the takedown.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jones lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Golgota at a distance.
Jones looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Golgota keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Golgota looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Sloppy strikes there by Jones.
Jones fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Golgota can't do much from the bottom here.
Golgota being controlled for a moment.
You can see the frustration on Golgota's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jones trying to control the position but Golgota is working away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Golgota prevents Jones from moving into mount.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Golgota tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.
Andrew Golgota is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones closes the distance looking to clinch

and Golgota counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Jones keeping busy on the bottom but Golgota has passed one foot through into half guard.

Jones is trying to escape back to his feet but Golgota uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Jones can't do much from the bottom here.
Jones manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jones tries to roll over but Golgota keeps him under control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Golgota is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jones defends it well.
Jones is trying to get back to full guard.
Andrew Golgota overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jones tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Golgota has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andrew Golgota.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Golgota, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
