The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macarenco works over Campbell's head and body with a nice combination.
Campbell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Macarenco swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Campbell throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Macarenco tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Campbell is in Macarenco's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Campbell throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Campbell throws an elbow that misses. Macarenco uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Campbell's guard. Nice move by Macarenco!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Campbell thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Macarenco wants to get up but he can't break Campbell's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Macarenco drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Campbell dives on top into guard.

Macarenco is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Campbell defends well.

You can see the frustration on Campbell's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
What can Campbell do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
