Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dean Cutler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Venture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Venture has chosen Party Hard by Andrew W.K. as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cutler shoots in and drives through. Venture sprawls well.

Venture scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Venture is just content to waste time from the top position. Cutler takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cutler is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Venture's shoulder. That is not cool.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cutler closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Cutler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Venture but Venture pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Venture lands a head kick. Cutler smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Cutler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Venture tries to avoid it but Cutler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Venture to the ground. Venture escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Venture closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cutler quickly recovers to half guard.

Venture is looking for a kimura but Cutler is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Venture to get the leverage.
Venture takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Cutler wants to sweep but Venture has passed to side control!

Cutler has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
