Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Rambooo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ash Oneill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Rambooo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ash Oneill!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oneill shoots in looking for a takedown. Rambooo tries to sprawl out of it but Oneill keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rambooo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Oneill throws a head kick that misses.
Oneill shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rambooo pinned against the cage. Rambooo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rambooo stuffs the takedown.
John Rambooo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ash Oneill.

Oneill moves into the clinch successfully.
Rambooo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of John Rambooo.
Oneill throws a series of punches but Rambooo moves out of range.
Rambooo blocks a head kick by Oneill.
Oneill throws a sloppy head kick and Rambooo moves out of range easily.

Oneill gets tackled into the cage by Rambooo. Rambooo maintains the clinch.
Oneill blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Rambooo misses with a body punch.
Oneill throws a head punch that misses.
Rambooo digs a right hand underneath Oneill's ribcage. Oneill let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Oneill wants to take the fight to the mat but Rambooo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Oneill manages to break the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rambooo closes the distance and pushes Oneill back into the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Oneill jumps guard but Rambooo stands there with Oneill around his waist. Oneill gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Oneill tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rambooo's elbow.
Oneill drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rambooo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Oneill looks winded!
Rambooo avoiding damage.
Rambooo jumps guard but Oneill stands there with Rambooo around his waist. Rambooo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Oneill misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Rambooo.

Rambooo wants to get back to his feet but Oneill is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rambooo has his hands on Oneill's head, controlling the position.
Rambooo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Oneill is one step ahead there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Oneill got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rambooo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Oneill has managed to get both his arms back between Rambooo's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rambooo is controlling the pace.
Oneill wants to sweep but Rambooo has passed to side control!
Rambooo just content to control the position.
Oneill is trying to control Rambooo's posture but Rambooo avoids it.

Rambooo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Oneill is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Oneill tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Rambooo easily slips into full mount!
Rambooo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Oneill is squirming around, avoiding Rambooo's attempts to control the action.

Oneill is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rambooo lands a nice shot to the head.
Oneill is trying desperately to improve position.

Rambooo is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Oneill to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Oneill shrugs it off.

Rambooo trying to mount his opponent but Oneill defends it.
Oneill is concentrating on defense, preventing Rambooo from advancing position.
Oneill is looking to control Rambooo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Oneill avoid being mounted?

Rambooo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Oneill on his heels. He'll look to pass Oneill's guard now, I'm sure.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Oneill tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Oneill gets caught napping as Rambooo dives in and scores a takedown. Oneill manages to retain guard.

Oneill is looking for a triangle but Rambooo pushes his legs off easily.
Oneill takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Rambooo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oneill is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

and Rambooo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Rambooo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Oneill looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Rambooo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Oneill to his feet.
