Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Katt Mamma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Dennis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamma closes the distance and clinches up with Dennis, looking for a takedown. Mamma pushes Dennis against the cage but Dennis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Mamma counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mamma.

Dennis pulls guard successfully.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mamma stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dennis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mamma is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dennis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dennis has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dennis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mamma is proving hard to escape from.
