The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Batista but Batista pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Oliveira misses with a takedown attempt - Batista sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Batista counters with a crisp one two that drops Oliveira! Batista thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Oliveira to his feet! Oliveira is in big trouble!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luiz Oliveira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Oliveira is defended easily by Batista.

The strikes coming from Oliveira are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Batista tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Oliveira wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Oliveira works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
You can see the frustration on Batista's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Oliveira has hold of Batista's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Batista tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Oliveira cranks the arm and Batista screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Batista, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
