And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Jerry Springer!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
den Hollander connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Springer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jerry Springer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Danga de danga de dang - Springer scores with a four punch combination!
Springer takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
den Hollander moves out of range of the strikes.
den Hollander scores with a shot to the body.
Springer misses with a double jab.
Springer shoots and misses
and den Hollander counters with a slapping leg kick.
Springer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from den Hollander - that will leave a mark!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Springer takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
den Hollander throws a lazy right hand but Springer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
den Hollander lands a lovely overhand right.
den Hollander buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A head kick misses from Springer.
Springer looks winded!

den Hollander closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - den Hollander lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
den Hollander is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Springer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
den Hollander stands and throws Springer's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Springer is looking to regain half guard here but den Hollander keeps moving and retains side control.
Springer wants to control but den Hollander postures up.

den Hollander wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Springer, who protects the arm well.
den Hollander cracks Springer with a big right hand but Springer just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Springer tries to bench press den Hollander off him but den Hollander keeps the position.
Springer takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
den Hollander has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A lull in the action here.

den Hollander working away.
Springer looks to move to half guard but instead den Hollander has passed into mount! Damn!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Springer tries to hold on but den Hollander pushes him away.
den Hollander lands a big elbow.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Springer can do anything to dispel that myth.

A determined Johan den Hollander didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
