Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Jitus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sundar Thapa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vinny Jitus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sundar Thapa!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jitus fails with the takedown

so Thapa counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Thapa slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jitus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thapa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Thapa might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jitus haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thapa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jitus swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Jitus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jitus sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Thapa's guard.
Thapa makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Thapa.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Thapa is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well Thapa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
