Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Currey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, King Dang!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Currey wants to clinch but Dang slips to the side

and Dang counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dang looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Currey is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Currey is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Currey takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Dang looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Currey wants to take a breather but Dang is having none of it.
Currey tries to stand and escape but Dang is controlling the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Currey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dang keeps working.

Currey shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dang manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Currey closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Dang parries the strikes from Currey easily there. Currey is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Dang to escape.
Currey sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Dang is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Currey stands up and beckons Dang to his feet.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Dang crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Currey - the referee stops the clock and Dang gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Currey. Dang manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Currey throws a nice looking combination but Dang bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dang shoots in for a double leg but Currey sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Dang is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Currey gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Jimmy Currey is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
