Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jax Morrow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Shields!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morrow lands with an overhand left.
Shields tries to clinch up but Morrow circles away and keeps his distance.
Morrow gets a clinch.
Morrow pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Shields gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Morrow regains guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Morrow bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shields's guard.
Morrow sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Shields's guard.
Morrow decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Morrow connects with a nice looking jab.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Morrow! Shields is backing up but he can't get away as Morrow lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Shields and ends the fight. Great knockout.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jax Morrow!
